a teacher who could make a difference in a child's life. We lack enough good teachers, but even more so, we lack great teachers who can truly reach out and inspire our children to learn. I never had a teacher like that when I was in grade school and wonder if I might be different if I did. Because of that, I often think about becoming that kind of teacher myself so that I can help fill that void.

After daydreaming about traveling through time, sitting in the Oval Office, or writing a best-selling novel, I set my sights on being someone who made the world a better place. It could mean discovering a cure for cancer and earning a place in the history books. Or it could be teaching a child to read. It could be something as simple as volunteering at a local soup kitchen or as complex as managing an international campaign to eliminate hunger. In the end, what I do doesn't matter as much as the positive effect it has on my friends, family, and community. Best of all, this is a dream within everyone’s grasp. It’s just a matter of having the courage and determination to seize the opportunities.

A fighter pilot. When I was younger I always dreamed being a pilot. I had planned on joining the military to fly fighters and then eventually become a commercial pilot. Nothing fancy.

If I could be someone else it would have to be the character James Bond created by Ian Fleming. Bond possesses numerous qualities that extend beyond the image of the hyper-masculine ideal that he projects. He is intelligent, articulate, suave, disciplined, and good-looking. It is these characteristics that contribute to his universal appeal.

Fleming writes the character James Bond as being intelligent and articulate as well. This is a stark contrast from societal stereotypes. It is often presumed that if a person is gifted physically that they lack intelligence. Bond dispels this stereotype. He is both intelligent and extremely athletic, allowing him to appeal to both our minds and our egos.

Bond also can easily be termed as both "a man's man" as well as "a lady's man". He is respected by other men for his strength, athleticism, his aptitude for physical combat and confrontation, and his ability to always seamlessly obtain the affections of the female characters that he encounters.

Bond is also "a lady's man". He is often the source of desire and adoration for the many female characters contained in Fleming's work. The women of the Bond series often go to great lengths to protect and aid James in his espionage missions.

The psychology that Bond represents plays to our very own human psyche. As humans become socialized into society it is often our latent desire that we be respected by our peers and desirable to the opposite sex. James Bond is the embodiment of our need, as humans, for social acceptance.

Often presented with a multiplicative of issues ranging from his relationships with women to betrayal and even death, Bond's suave demeanor rarely changes. Whatever situation that he encounters he approaches it with consistent level-headed thinking. His ability to be in complete control of himself, his emotions and actions, gives him a somewhat ethereal persona and displays the level of self-discipline that he possesses.

If I were able to become someone else I would want to be like James Bond because he is intelligent, articulate, respected by his peers, and viewed as desirable by others. Most significantly he is extremely disciplined. This character trait takes precedence above the rest for me because it is one trait I want to improve within myself. For I believe that with self-discipline and hard-work personal success is inevitable.
